Today, young people face many challenges and uncertainties about their future. As part of this project, we will help young participants to learn how they can shape their own lives and how they can become more active citizens who will contribute to positive changes in society. We believe that young people need to be more aware of their rights, and it is also very important for them to be aware of when their rights are violated. In view of the violation of their rights and discrimination, a large number of young people in the EU can find themselves on the verge of society. These young people are often also less active citizens. The topic of human rights is very important and firmly linked both to the priorities of the Erasmus + program and to the Resolution on the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027, which emphasizes the importance of young people involved and empowered in achieving EU policy objectives and the importance of social and civic engagement of young people. The Youth Strategy has among its goals, among other things, to enable young people's personal development and growth, encouraging young people to become active citizens, contributing to the elimination of discrimination against young people and promoting the social inclusion of young people. All of this is also the objectives of this project. The project also aims to enable the participation of six partner organizations and 42 young people from six EU countries, namely Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Partnership organizations and young participants will thus debate in this project on a variety of topics, such as gender equality, non-discrimination, inclusion for all young people, especially for young people with fewer opportunities, active citizenship of young people, participation of young people in the creation and implementation of various measures and opportunities for young people in the EU. Partners are aware that a single project will not change the habits of young people and the degree of their activation. At the same time, we are aware that it is necessary to start somewhere to see long-term positive changes. This way, we will encourage and inform young people about opportunities within the EU and about their rights, to enable them to gain new insights and ideas, which we believe will motivate them to take control of their lives and become more active citizens. The young participants will be informed about the importance of further spreading this newly acquired mentality among their peers. Therefore, we expect that these young people will become more active in the environment after completion of the project and will be active in youth work and youth organizations. We also count on some of the participants to become youth leaders after the project and transfer their knowledge to other young people in their communities. We believe that with our activities we will achieve youth activation in all partner countries of this project. During the project, we will also contribute to improving the level of key competences and skills of young participants. We believe that this is especially important for young people with fewer opportunities who are less likely to face such opportunities and that they will be able to take the most from this project. By doing so, we will help them to empower themselves, become active citizens as well as make them more aware of intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity.
