The aim of our project was development of the teachers competences in the field of language education and the methodology of teaching foreign languages (English and German) and the development of competences of the school management in planning and management of the teaching process through the exchange of experience with managers, teachers and staff of educational institutions in Finland. Our aim was to explore the school system in Finland and its specific aspects and try to implement some of its elements into the teaching process in our school. Last but not least, our goal was also the exchange of experience through the contact with the teacher from other European countries participating in the same courses. By achieving the above mentioned goals, we want to gradually fulfill the long-term development priorities of our school, which are the innovation and modernization of teaching content and methods, inclusive education, improvement of the professional and language competences of school teachers, creation of a network of partner institutions with the aim of project cooperation, exchanges experience and best practices and the gradual transformation of the school into a modern educational institution in the European context.
In our school, we constantly try to improve the quality of education and enrich the content of the school curriculum with innovations and new teaching forms and methods. We also try to strengthen multicultural aspect and the European dimension of the educational process in our school. By participating in this project, we wanted to enable our teachers to acquire and expand their professional competences so that they can be an example of good practice for other teachers of the school and, above all, for our students. We wanted to enable our teachers to contact foreign educational institutions and educators from various European countries, so that they could exchange their professional experience with them and establish cooperation with them and their schools. We want to implement the competences, skills and experience that teachers acquired into educational activities and teaching materials of the school subjects, so that we can offer the students of our school modern education and extracurricular activities which are in accordance with the current educational trends in other European countries and thus enabled them to be better prepared to continue in their further studies at universities not only in Slovakia, but also abroad.
