By implementing this project, we wanted to provide our students wih the internship abroad, considering it to be a good starting point in their professional careers. In addition to the internship in foreign companies the students got new knowledge, skills, competencies and they became more independent. They learned to rely on themselves, to live in a foreign environment and to solve new situations. After completing the internship abroad, students will be able to compare it with work experience in Slovak companies, although it is possible that they have not taken work practice during their studies at school due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation and distance learning. Our school has been concerning on education of secondary school youth in the field of transport for more than 50 years and also trying to spread its reputation beyond the self-governing region and to improve the teaching of vocational subjects. The participation of students in the project has improved their personal development, increased their chances of finding the right potential employer.
The main goal of our project was to make foreign internships available to as many of students as possible and to enable them to compare practice in our companies and practice abroad. 16 students participated in the project including four students from the Department of Electrical Engineering in Transport and Telecommunications, six students from the Department of Engineering and Operation of Transport and from the Department of Operation and Economics of Transport, four students with a focus on Road Transport and two students with a focus on Logistic in Transport. The students took the internship in the Czech Republic, in Kroměříž - in the company Elektro Kroměříž, a.s., in Poland in Katowice - in the companies DARA Transport, Polmark Logistic and STAN-S Autoserwis. The accompanying supervisors were three teachers. All activities were successfully implemented within the framework of changes approved by the National Agency. The students' practice was evaluated by foreign mentors. The project and its results were presented and promoted to the public through various activities. An important benefit for students is to obtain a Europass Mobility Document, which enables them to increase their portfolio.
