Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to motivate our students to improve their academic results - as the achieved academic average was one of the criteria for selecting mobility participants. We also wanted to continue the tradition of the possibility to apply for a professional internship abroad, as was the case in previous years. We want to motivate talented pupils and pupils with better results to further study and good application in the labor market, as well as the possibility of participating in a similar professional internship in a nearby foreign country. For the transport department, it is also important to familiarize yourself with the legislation of other countries, which will help them to more comprehensively understand the curriculum taken at school, since due to the location of Slovakia in the center of Europe, it is necessary for the student of the transport department to master the issues of international road transport.

Background

We submitted the application with the aim of supporting the connection of our students' education with practice in specific companies that are focused on the field that students study at school. The goal was to increase the quality of their practical training and improve their applicability on the labor market. We chose our partners in the linguistically close Czech Republic, as the essence of the project was not to increase the students' language competences, but to ensure a professional internship for the students so that they are able to master it one hundred percent from the professional and communication side and that it has clear outcomes. Pupils who were supposed to complete an internship abroad already had experience working in companies around Bratislava. By completing an internship in the Czech Republic, they should have acquired knowledge and skills with different procedures and technologies, while learning to flexibly adapt to new conditions.
