By implementing the project, we wanted to provide pupils with new knowledge, skills and competences (the use of a wood bender and laser, arduino and Python programmes) that we aren´t able to provide them with at our school. In this way,we have increased the qualification of the school graduate and modernized the quality of vocational training. Pupils were given the opportunity to know a different school system and to deepen their linguistic competences by working in international teams. We wanted them to know another country, their culture and traditions and thus influence and enrich their personality. We also wanted them to be responsible for themselves and other team members and to be able to take care of themselves without the help of their parents and thus gain confidence in their own abilities. We also wanted to improve the professional competences of the teaching staff who took part in the project as accompanying persons. By taking part in the workshop activities, they were able to observe new teaching methods and forms, which we wanted to implement in our curriculum. Our intention was to improve the management skills,to deepen relationships with partner schools,to publicise our school and its efforts to be innovative.
We signed up for this project because we care about our pupils and their quality education and future careers. We realize that in today's times there is a lot of competition and mediocrity does not pay. As we come from the least developed region, we want to give our pupils the best possible education so that they can enter the European labour market. Our graduates are often "forced" to go abroad to work after completing their secondary education due to the lack of adequate job opportunities in their region. Our aim was to enable pupils to go on short-term mobility in VET, where they have the opportunity to work in an international team on modern machines and equipment that are used in foreign companies. In this way, we gave them the opportunity to acquire new professional knowledge and skills in their field, while improving their language skills and gaining new insights into the culture and traditions of their host country. We joined the project not only because of the pupils, but we also wanted to observe and subsequently use the methods and forms of teaching used at the partner school and thus become a modern school that can reflect the changes in society, in new technologies and in the modern way of teaching.
