There has been a lack of professionals in the field of polygraphy and media willing to give their time to the youth. Therefore, we see the mobility as opportunity to replace the missing practicum in domestic environment. It has another benefit - the pressure from the school on domestic employers to create suitable conditions for vocational training. We look for ways to introduce the possibilities of lifelong employability in polygraphy and media professions which are in high demand to pupils. Successful internships within the Erasmus+ program in previous years, which applicants for study at our school are informed about at every possible occasion are both a great attraction and challenge for the applicants. We assumed that by participating on the project pupils would gain invaluable experience to help them prepare for their future jobs and compete on the labour market. We also wanted to activate the accompanying teachers to pass on the experience and knowledge of new trends and technologies acquired during the project activities to their colleagues. The school is aware of the need to develop and acquire foreign language and professional competences of its pupils and teachers at European level and wants to continue this strategy.
The Secondary Vocational School of Printing and Publishing, which provides vocational education and training in very specialized, interconnected and related fields of study focused on polygraphy and media, has been on the "market" for a long time, exactly for 70 years. It has been through several transformations, always responding to technological but also social changes. Since the school aims the vocational education and training of its pupils at acquiring knowledge and skills that will comply with the requirements of both the domestic labour market and employers as well as labour markets outside the borders of Slovakia. To see and experience the foreign labour market in person, we have to travel beyond the borders. Also, increasing the qualification and comprehensiveness of vocational education tutors and teaching staff is closely connected to technology and material suppliers who come from abroad. The school feels the need to "go out into the world", to make sure that its students, the future graduates can compete on the foreign labour market. The Erasmus+ project provides a perfect opportunity for us to do so.
