The goal that the school wants to achieve in the field of international projects is to continue to integrate students' professional internships into educational programs with full recognition as part of the educational process. The goal of student mobility is that a student who achieves above-average results in field of study can complete a professional internship during their studies as part of practical preparation for the profession. In its goals, the project does not forget about teachers. Especially in professional subjects, the possibilities of further education of teachers in the field of electronics, mechatronics, IT, macroeconomics are significantly absent. Therefore, an important goal was to support the professional growth of teachers of specialized subjects and enable them to gain a new perspective in their field through job-shadowing. Thanks to our reliable partners, our goals were met despite significant worldwide restrictions on the movement of people caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. We signed up for the project with the aim of realizing physical mobility of pupils. And despite the fact that the pandemic situation has also changed the way of conducting professional internships, our goal remained to carry out the internships physically according to the original plan.
The project "International mobility - training instrument tools" fulfils the action plan of project activities for the years 2016-2020, which the Secondary Vocational School Handlová, as the holder of the Charter, sets in its strategy of internationalization. That is why the school participated in the Challenge 2019, in order to enable students to complete part of their professional training at the workplaces of project partners. At the same time, it supported the possibility of professional growth of teaching stuff. SOŠ Handlová is a school with a long tradition. The original schools, the merger of which was established, were 70 years old. It is the only secondary school in the town of Handlová. Secondary schools in the district town of Prievidza, which is less than 20 km away, are its big competition. SOŠ Handlová is therefore constantly looking for opportunities and ways to recruit students. It includes fields focused on information and communication technologies in its offer, implements an educational program in English language, participates in projects focused on infrastructure and material provision of the educational process. These activities are also significantly supported by Erasmus + projects in KA1 and KA 2 activities, in which the school is regularly involved and has been successfully implemented since 2000.
