The main objective of the project is to enhance the student's interest in history, to understand that what we are now is a result of many historical events which form the present and the future as well. It is important to teach children to appreciate our culture, history, region and to preserve our cultural and historical heritage. This way we can educate young people who will be proud citizens and will be tolerant to other cultures at the same time. What we have in common is the food. Through discovering traditional meals, their history, stories about them, what is behind these traditions and local foods, we can discover our history and regions. Because of the language barrier we have decided to communicate in English, use of English and improvement of communicative skills of students and the teachers is another great advantage of this project together with improvement in ICT usage. These are needed for project planning, presentations and communication between the schools and for the implementation of the project results. Students need to use their knowledge of Geography, Citizenship and History. All off the activities which are planned within the project are task based, students need to prove themselves in problem solving and cooperation. When attending the mobilities participants will take part in the school lessons, enter the school in a museum. Project is planned for eight participants from each school, six students and two teachers. Students are 10-11 years old, who will learn about our countries cultural and historical heritage. The teachers will strengthens partners’ capacity by sharing knowledge and good practice in Regional education, English language and communication skills. There are two activities for student mobilities planned in this project, which are follow up activities after a period of planning, virtual meetings and bilateral communication. In general we expect that the participants of the project will: -broaden their historical knowledge about both regions, -become aware of our cultural and historical heritage, -improve their communicative skills in English language, -gain experience in international project management, -get motivation for their work and studies, -create a platform to further cooperation between our schools with a perspective of including more countries into the project. Participating organizations will gain confident teachers who have acquired new professional and practical skills. By sharing knowledge and good practice teachers will be able to implement these in their everyday practice. Our schools will gain better reputation within the regions. We also highly appraise new personal contacts between the students and teachers.
