As mentioned in the 2023 Education Vision of the Ministry of National Education, the main purpose of our country's vocational education policy is; to establish a vocational training system that can meet the workforce needs of the sector and can adapt to the developing technology by ensuring the active participation of stakeholders in the planning and decision-making processes. We wanted to benefit from this project in order to complete the deficiencies we identified in the businesses where our students did their internship. Our students experience failures during their internship because they do not know foreign guests sufficiently, do not know enough about the cultures and habits of the guests, and have insufficient practical speaking and understanding skills in a foreign language. With this project, we aimed to reduce them, to increase their professional success and motivation, and to ensure their self-confidence. In addition, we also aimed that our students get to know the tourism businesses in Europe, their organizational structures and service understandings, compare them with our country and transfer them.
The tourism sector, which is called the "flueless industry" in our country, has contributed significantly to the country's economy for many years, directs many sectors directly and indirectly, and stands out as a sector that provides employment to the citizens of our country. The need for qualified workforce is among the priorities of this sector. The quality of the personnel who will take place in the sector is also measured by important skills such as professional knowledge and skills, communication skills, foreign language knowledge. Our school has been carrying out educational activities since 2008 with the aim of training qualified personnel for this sector. Our most important goals are to improve the professional knowledge and skills of our students, whom we train to serve domestic and foreign tourists, to increase their practical speaking and comprehension skills in foreign language education, and to increase their communication skills. The contribution of international experience to increase these skills and competencies is undeniable. As Ünye Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, we apply to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ program in line with these goals.
