Objectives

As with every educational institution, our school, which provides vocational education, has great responsibilities. Firstly, foresee the needs on a sectoral basis, to take and implement measures to eliminate them, and to organize educational activities and contents in this direction. As we have stated in the application form, our institution is located in a small town in a region where the socio-cultural and economic levels of the families are medium-low. The negative effects of this situation are felt on our students. One of these negativities is that our students don't complete high school education and have to participate in working life in order to provide financial support to their families. So, the Erasmus+ project is an opportunity for our institution and our students to minimize these negativities. Our students, who did not have experience abroad due to the conditions they were in, had the opportunity to live in Germany , do internships, and get to know different cultures and new people. The Erasmus+ project not only provided their professional development, but also created the opportunity to increase their self-confidence, improve their communication skills, and enabled the development of their foreign language skills.

Background

Our main purpose in wanting to implement our project with the number 2019-1-TR01-KA102-065915 titled “We are Europe, Electric Cars to Turkey” is our main purpose, since electric motors technology is a new and not fully established technology in our country, our students cannot meet the knowledge and skills required by the sector and they lack cause them to stay. As a vocational education institution, our duty is to analyze the needs and expectations of the sector and to prepare our students for professional life as individuals with the qualified workforce needed by the sector. For this reason, in the 2019 call for proposals, we implemented our project in order to make up for the shortcomings of our students, who have limited internship opportunities in the field of maintenance and repair of electric cars, and to create and offer suitable conditions for them to develop their professional skills. Another aim of ours was to improve our students' foreign language, personal and social adaptation skills. Our participants developed their personal skills as a result of the preparatory training they attended before the project activities and the experiences they gained during the activity.
