12.29 percent of Turkey's population consists of disabled individuals. This statistics shows that 8.5 million people are disabled in our country. 77.80 percent of the disabled population do not participate in the workforce at all. One of the most fundamental problems faced by the disabled in our country is “prejudices, employment, education and access”. Among the problems experienced in preparing our students for employment, educational problems and inadequacies in employability skills are the most basic problems. Our school has problems such as lack of infrastructure in the field of vocational education, teacher qualifications and unqualified internships in enterprises. The employability skills required for the job in placing individuals to work should be taught through on-the-job activities in the workplaces. The most emphasized employability skills in employment are; communication, basic knowledge and skills, responsibility, staying on task, getting along with employees, recognizing the importance of safety and health. This can only be achieved through on-the-job vocational training practices. This project was prepared and successfully implemented in order to improve the employability skills of our students with mild mental disabilities, who are disadvantaged in social life, by taking advantage of the Erasmus program opportunities to improve on-the-job experiences of our students, to reduce social prejudices and to increase employment opportunities.
