With the increase in institutions operating on the basis of the Reggio Emilia approach in our country, the need for qualified personnel to take part in this field is also increasing. In order to ground the Reggio Emilia approach and to continue the education in our institution, an internship program was held in Spain in specialized institutions. Within the scope of the project, partnerships were established with 5 different host institutions in Spain. The students determined as participants are composed of successful and compatible students based on the basic education they received in the preparatory activities in our institution and the internship activities they have done in Turkey. Our participating students participated in practical internship activities at our host institutions Matos Grabatos SL, Escuela Infantil Chupetines, ESCUELA INFANTIL EL BOSQUE ENCANTADO C.G., La Pieza del Puzzle SL and Escuela Infantil Trebola, providing services in the field of Child Development and Education. Internship activities took place between 09:00-16:00 on weekdays. At the end of the internship activities, our students have achieved the stated outcomes: Organizing daily life skills activities based on the Reggio Emilia approach, organizing sensory activities and language development activities, mathematics education, organizing universal learning activities, etc.
With our project called European Internship in Reggio Emilia Approach in Preschool Period, 16 students who continue their education in the field of Child Development and Education have gained practical experience in Spain by improving their professional skills on the Reggio Emilia approach in early childhood. Reggio Emilia approach, which is our project subject, is an education method that has been used in pre-school education, where the demand has increased considerably in recent years. What distinguishes Reggio Emilia from other educational approaches is that it aims to construct knowledge by the child while interacting with peers and adults; attaches great importance to relationships, culture and environment. With the increase in institutions operating on the basis of the Reggio Emilia approach in our country, the need for qualified personnel to take part in this field is also increasing. This project was implemented in order to meet the sectoral needs in this field and the need for our Child Development and Education department students to be included in the education and internship process that is far from the current practices in Europe.
