Objectives

By implementing our project, our participants have seen the practices in their fields in Europe. Thus, they will take the place they deserve in the labor market in our country and in Europe as knowledgeable, skilled and self-confident healthcare personnel. In addition, they will contribute to the healthy life of geriatric patients and increase the quality of health services. In addition, there will be the development of foreign language proficiency, the development of an environment of tolerance by recognizing different cultures, and the spread of European consciousness. The lack of adequate information and guidance on patient and elderly care and home care in our country, and the absence of institutions and organizations in our province to do internships in these areas cause our graduates to not learn the applications in this field and to be inexperienced in the field. Among the main reasons for implementing our project are European and world developments in home care and elderly care, raising awareness about job opportunities and increasing internship opportunities. Again, due to the lack of employment in our province, our students have to prove their professional competence in organizations in other provinces.

Background

Our project is for elderly care and home care services. Scientific and technological developments in the field of health in the world and in our country, the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases and the decreasing death rate have led to a prolongation of human lifespan and an increase in the elderly population within the total population. The aging of the population has created many problems in the economic and social fields. Especially developed European countries are faced with many problems from the provision of health services to social security and working rights due to the increasing elderly population. For all these reasons, Europe has started to work in the field of elderly care and has had to develop service types in accordance with the society's needs, opportunities, scientific facts and expectations of the society in providing health services to the elderly and to train professional personnel to provide this service. In the light of all these, we have written our project for cultural exchange, facilitating employment of our students, as well as our professional purposes such as bringing the practices in European countries, which is one of the fields we provide training, to our country, making comparisons, promoting good practices in our country.
