Objectives: The main objective of the project is to increase the competence of people working in the field of adult education on the education of people with disabilities. Objectives include: To teach the students the basic points of sexual development and the stages in the development of positive sexual development in disabled individuals (mentally disabled, down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, disabilities). To teach participants the social skills related to sexual identity. To provide participants with the ability to prepare an individual sexual education program for people with mentally diabled. To teach participants new methods and techniques in sexual education. (drama, role playing, use of technology)
The area of sexuality and sexual education is still an area that does not include educational programs in our country. The teachers working in the Ministry of National Education do not have formation of "sexual education of disabled students". Due to the limited number of studies on this subject in our country and the lack of adequate training in this area, it is not possible to meet the number of trained experts. This training offers a variety of approaches to discuss sexuality and to respond to behaviors that help participants become more comfortable and confident. Association members have been mentioning on the problems of sexual development and sexual education of individuals with special needs as well as problems their families’ faces. They have been mentioning that individuals with special education needs and their families are in need of sexual education.
