The obesity epidemic is one of the most important public health problems in the WHO EU Region. Considering obesity rates, Turkey ranks first among EU countries. The prevalence of obesity has more than tripled in the last two decades across the EU region. More than half of adults in the EU Region and more than 20% of children who will become adults of the future are overweight. Overweight and obesity cause an increase in the burden of noncommunicable diseases, a shorter life expectancy, and a decrease in quality of life. It is possible to reverse obesity and obesity-related health problems. Our institution, which provides primary health care services for the protection and development of health, aims to increase the health level of the society by providing individuals with healthy living skills. Adult education and counseling services are at the core of obesity prevention services. These services require sufficient health knowledge and professionalism, as well as a separate expertise in transferring existing knowledge to adult learners, that is, in adult education. This project application was made with the aim of improving the adult education skills of the personnel working in this field.
