Objectives

According to a study by Essex and College London Universities, published in BMC Public Health, the use of social media among girls and boys since the age of 10 increases with age. According to the research results; the use of unconscious social media, whether conducted isolated or with peer groups, poses risks that may lead to physical and mental problems in individuals. Risks such as social isolation, low self-esteem, eating, drinking disorders, depression, increased obesity and decreased physical activity are part of them. However, active users are mostly addressed with the positive contributions of social media such as rapid communication, high-quality interaction, reduced social isolation and access to information. Among the youth (age between 13-29), passive users are more than active users with a percentage of 77. Our project includes activities that will develop their sensitivity and skills in various artistic areas and they can combine these skills with the basic digital qualifications required in the internet and social media environment. And thereby, these activities will support their Internet and social media active use skills and motivation. Within the scope of the application, young people will be guided to useful interests such as making short films on various subjects, conducting interviews, conducting surveys and interviews to measure the internet and social media habits and awareness among local people, making researches on current issues, organizing workshops, producing simple website and digital games and sharing those with others. Thus, they will be protected from the harmful content of both the internet and social media and increase their social welfare and quality of life. The objectives of our project are: To improve the competences of participants about the internet and social media use, To increase their active digital use orientations by matching/supporting these competencies with outdoor, socio-cultural and artistic activities, To increase their social, cultural and artistic skills, linguistic and individual competencies, and intercultural awareness, To protect them from the harmful content of social media and internet, To develop their social and visual media literacy.
