IYACA will organize youth exchnage Project which is name “Equal in Life, Different in Gender” with 42 participants from 7 different countries, between 01-08 August 2019 in Ankara. The participating countries is; Turkey, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania. Our main goal in selecting our project partners was to ensure the diversity of cultures and to have countries with different positions in the theme of gender equality. Gender equality is a global and actual problem. Gender discrimination is any discrimination, exclusion or restriction on the basis of socially structured gender roles and stereotypes that prevent individuals from taking full advantage of human rights. It occurs at different levels and ways in different geographies. We want our participants to gain awareness by conducting activities on gender discrimination and comparing their cultures with other cultures. The main objectives of our project are; • Identify conditions that lead to gender discrimination. Developing methods to combat discrimination. To raise awareness. • Promote active citizenship and participation of young people in social issues. • Establish a strong youth network that wants to work on gender equality issues. • Introducing new cultures, values, languages and lifestyles to participants. To provide intercultural interaction. • Encourage young people using intercultural learning methods to promote peace, tolerance, love and solidarity by avoiding negative ideas such as racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and xenophobia.
