Objectives

As in our country, violence has increased every year in European countries and has reached a level that threatens societies. After the Istanbul Convention in 2011 the EU Commission adopted a series of measures against "violence against women and domestic violence". In Turkey the figures show that incidents including violence occurred mostly in Adana after Istanbul. On the basis of population rates, we can see that Adana is far ahead in violence than any other city in Turkey. Group Akdeniz Youth Community, which operates in the social responsibility of our city, has planned to implement this project considering that we should not be insensitive to this problem. With this project we aim to raise awareness towards violence which is increasing day by day in the partner countries, Turkey and especially in the city of Adana. The project activities will search for the reasons that prompt people to violence and try to find alternative solutions to prevent violence. We aim to raise awareness of the participants, provide an opportunity for the participants to develop themselves on violence and promote them to carry out beneficial studies regarding violence. We want the participants to know that they can develop a positive dialogue, cooperate, work together and break the prejudices. In the activities we will try to show that the diversity in our culture, language and belief is richness and something we should all respect.
