REASONS FOR APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT Our project deals with one of the most important problems in work life: occupational accidents and diseases. Occupational health and safety is a global issue. Our objectives to have implemented this project where we reached our goals included researching the roots of the problems that cause occupational accidents and diseases and raising awareness to these issues. Additionally, we have achieved our goal of making our participants aware of the importance of voluntary participation in works done on global issues. Throughout our project, outcomes of the activities and the gains of our participants have been evaluated and our goals which have been achieved as a result of these have been determined. OUR GOALS Our project goals consisted of raising awareness on occupational health and safety and spread this awareness, creating individual and social awareness to make workplaces safer for workers, and drawing attention to the importance of the elimination of risky situations regarding occupational accidents. In this project, we have achieved our goals of raising awareness to occupational safety and enhancing the culture of security. With the activities we carried out throughout the project, we have increased the individual level of awareness and successfully executed our dissemination works. In this context, the concept of occupational health and security has been defined by the our target groups. In this regard, occupational safety culture has been internalized and awareness was raised on the necessity of taking the precautionary measures. With the activities we carried out, we have made sure that our participants gain an awareness of the dangerous behaviour that result in occupational accidents and diseases. We have conveyed the relationship between workforce quality and occupational accidents to both our participants and target groups. We have also paid special attention to achieving equality of opportunity by including participants with limited opportunities and establishing a balance of genders.
