The refugee crisis, a global problem, accounts for 1 percent of the world's 7.6 billion population. With each passing day, the number of people in refugee status is increasing. The number of refugees fleeing conflict and wars has reached one hundred percent of the world's population by reaching the highest of modern history. In other words, 76 million of the global population of 7.6 billion were forced to leave their home due to wars. The proportion of women and children refugees is higher than that of male refugees. 70% of the world's refugee population is women and children. The incidence of violence against women, their non-protection, war and violence have led to a high number of women refugees in the world. Women migrate and leave their homes. Refugee women are exposed to gender-based violence before asylum, when they seek asylum, and in asylum. Refugee women are obliged to deal with economic problems such as self-defence, hostility, shelter and nutrition. Women are exposed to discrimination in this process and they are subject to persecution and oppression such as sexual abuse and domestic violence because of their gender. Our aim with this project is, by not being indifferent to such problems of women refugees and asylum seekers, to inform people with various awareness studies, to utilize the social integration of women refugees, to raise awareness by emphasizing their needs and problems, to help them benefit from social rights and to support them living a life worthy of human dignity. At the same time, we aim to provide opportunity equality by including participants with limited opportunities, to raise awareness about refugees which is a global and contemporary issue by bringing together people from different cultures and to eliminate discrimination, racism and prejudiced attitudes. To achieve these objectives, we will organize various dissemination, information and social awareness activities. Our project deals with the special problems that women experience, based on the problems experienced by the refugees during the migration process. Gender roles affect both these social factors and mental disorders. War and migration often increase inequality between men and women. Unfortunately, it is known that women are exposed to sexual trauma, harassment and rape, clearly different from men before migration and during migration, especially when they migrate due to conflict, war or political reasons. After the migration has been completed, many new problems arise. With the migration, the person has lost all or part of his / her homeland and / or his / her family in real or symbolic terms. The fact that whether the immigrant goes to a country close to his / her own culture and the language spoken in the place where he / she is migrated or not is effective on mental health. The immigrant can lose his / her native language along with many losses. Adapting to the new culture involves changes in the social values, behaviours and attitudes that the person has been accustomed to and has been accustomed to. All these losses are mourned. Psychiatric intervention may be required if this mourning lasts long. Women are subject to further discrimination and social exclusion within the host community. Especially older women are exposed to more discrimination as carriers of cultural codes. The lifestyles they have been experiencing for years, their dressing styles, and the fact that almost everywhere in the world there is a lower chance of accession for older women, the likelihood of finding a work is also decreasing. The fact that refugee women are seen in different ways within society and their exclusion decreases their desire to create a new life. These attitudes towards women refugees need to be altered and they should be protected against sexual and physical abuse, exploitation and discrimination in the distribution of goods and services. Our aim with this project is, by not being indifferent to such problems of women refugees and asylum seekers, to raise awareness by emphasizing their needs and problems, let them experience social inclusion instead of exclusion and to support them living a life worthy of human dignity. Besides, it is aimed to increase the intercultural communication of young people, to give them new experiences, to raise awareness about global issues, to introduce Erasmus + program and to raise awareness about disadvantaged groups. Let's not forget that the burning of our neighbour’s wall affects us. So we must realize that it would be our loss to remain insensitive to the events that are happening near us. In this regard, we will ensure the awareness of young people who are active in social life.
