Objectives

Our project deals with the effects of social phobia on the individual’s personal development and relationships with the others. Social anxiety is the fear of being judged and evaluated negatively by other people, leading to feelings of inadequacy, inferiority, self-consciousness, embarrassment, humiliation, and depression. People with social phobia feel anxious and nervous while meeting a new person. They also tend to keep themselves out of society. In the early stages of the disease, children cannot talk to anybody about it. The fact that quiet children are praised in society results in avoiding how serious disease it is. Children with social phobia will face serious troubles if their disease isn't treated immediately. In the university years, it only worsens. It will get worse and worse if it isn't treated. It has negative effects on their careers as well. In particular, people who are expected to go abroad and make presentations face several problems because of their disease. Apart from these, we aim the following things in our project: to reveal that social phobia decreases the living conditions people, to raise awareness against the effects of social phobia on the social and family relationships, education and working life, and to provide information about the ways to tackle social phobia for people.
