Objectives

Turkey hosts people from different backgrounds; however, discrimination and exclusion have always been on our agenda. According to Media Hate speech report, published in 2018, the increase in the discourse of discrimination against people with different ethnicity, religion and sexual preferences has made the situation an urgent problem to be solved. Europe has the same problem as well. In The Action Week Against took placed in 2018, thousands of people from various cities in Europe protested the actions and behaviors against social and cultural groups and expressed their willingness to protect the rights of them. This shows us that there is a need to develop dialogue between different social and cultural groups and thus to strengthen the inclusion of societies. To develop intercultural dialogue among social and cultural groups through music and to contribute to efforts made in order to strengthen the inclusiveness of European Union and Turkey; this project was prepared by Nongovermental Organizations from Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Macedonia and Turkey working with disadvantaged groups. The objectives of our project are as follows; • To develop the participants' knowledge and skills in the fields of culture, tangible and intangible aspects of culture, cultural diversity, cultural heritage and to encourage them to protect and respect cultural values, • To develop the participants' knowledge and skills in the fields of discrimination, stereotype, prejudice, cultural relativism, equality, tolerance and cultural dialogue, and encourage them to take an active role in their communities, • To develop musical, communication, democratic decision-making, creativity, idea development and teamwork skills of participants and to create cultural dialogue among them, • To enable participants to discover the potential of music in promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in society, and to encourage them to use the music as a tool in developing cultural dialogue, • To inform participants about the functionality of Erasmus + programs in solving the common problems of the European Union and to encourage them to participate in other projects, to write projects and to cooperate in the future.
