The Architectural Stone Carving Programs (ARSCAP) Project will continue 24 months with international meetings, multiplier activities, and dissemination activities. The main objective of the project is to design a new and updated curriculum for Architectural Stone Carving training. In addition, to make the training materials interactive for those who cannot reach education through the web-based education portal of this curriculum. Both the VET General Directorate Quality and Development Department 2018 report, the EU 2020 Strategic Development Plan and the Bologna Declaration signed in 1999, it is emphasized to create of a curriculum for the qualified labor force of the sector needs according to the qualifications in the VET area. When considering today's conditions, despite having a deep-rooted history in Turkey, Architectural Stone Carving education only is given very limited educational institutes. This training program is only available in MoNE, Lifelong Learning institutions. However, this program does not contribute to the sector at the required level. The current curriculum is understood to be inadequate to meet the needs of today's sectoral and social needs. Moreover, technical material, lack of physical fields and lack of experienced academics is another reason why the programme is not adequate. We are planning to examine the implementations of international stonework in the EU and Turkey Level, prepare a comprehensive course curriculum related to these works, interpretation of common artistic cultures in the redesign in order to contribute to today's stonework sector. After the end of the project, cooperation between project partners and inter-cultural sustainable continuity and employment will be ensured. The copyright of the outputs will be taken. Thus the sustainability of the project will be provided. The aim of this course is to increase the number of qualified and professional education teachers, master instructors and stonemasons who can bring the historical textures from Anatolian and world cultural heritage back to the workshops and train the master of architectural stone carving in the sector at the European level. OBJECTIVES The core of our project aim is to prepare an innovative curriculum to meet the employment of architectural stone carving and to strengthen professional qualifications at the EU level. The most important source of motivation for our project is the lack of an open web resource at the national and international level, where architectural stone carving curriculum courses will take place.one of the other objectives of ensuring that the local Architectural Stone Carving is sustainable again at the EU level at VET through the curriculum. Architectural Stone Carving will be created after the education of the graduate follow-up system with the needs and needs of the sector will be ensured to be constantly up-to-date and follow-up with this system. The Moodle.org online training platform with rich visual content, including the Architectural Stone Carving curriculum and materials, will be launched at the end of the project pilot. PARTNERSHIP The partnership is consisting of 3 national and 3 EU partners. The partnership is only small scale but each partner brings with them particular expertise to enhance the project. the smallness of the partnership will allow very focused work, thus ensuring that high expectations of this project are met. ACTIVITIES -To analyze the needs and expectations of the labor market and the gap between the education system and the market -Developing a new and updated curriculum for students -Prepare new and innovative course materials -Moodle.org training platform thanks to the project training in video format and pdf format to free share -Including the workforce with the sector periodically to produce solutions to the sectoral problems -Observing the employment status of graduates with graduate tracking system after the training of Architecture Stone Carving. TARGET GROUP -Educators, Academicians -MoNE, Vocational High Schools, Vocational Training Centers, Public Training Centers -Sector Representatives - Individuals who want to improve themselves in this sector and be more competent in line with the needs of the sector. BENEFITS: In order to fulfil the mission of innovation expected from a contemporary vocational training program, our project brings together the experiences of craftsmen, staff and experts and sectoral stakeholders, as well as technological innovations in stone workmanship to address basic needs in both interdisciplinary and industry, such as employment, professional qualifications, interagency and easy free access through web open sources. In addition, the web-based curriculum aims to bring together target groups(Stone carving sector, institutions, experts, teachers, academicians, students, graduates)in the field on a common platform with the ARSCAP
With the innovative curriculum and training materials developed by educational institutions, sector representatives and field experts, stone carving education will not only be carried out with the master-apprentice relationship, but educational institutions will be able to train qualified personnel who have received the training that the sector needs in a planned, specific order by fulfilling their duties.
The quality and qualified training of the technical personnel who know the stonework and its maintenance is an important shortcoming that we have encountered in recent years. It is seen that the Natural Stone Carving course of the Ministry of National Education is insufficient to meet the needs of international, regional and sectoral areas and to train qualified workers. The most important reason for this inadequacy is the inability to create an interdisciplinary curriculum in accordance with professional qualifications together with the sector, field experts and educational institutions. When planning a profession, we must consider the needs of the industry. The aim of our project is to prepare an innovative curriculum to meet the employment of architectural stone carving and strengthen professional qualifications at EU level. For this reason, the need for experienced partners in the field of education in the EU and Turkey to come together in this project and develop flexible education systems in line with the objectives of innovation and the Bologna process has arisen. This program is aimed at structuring the experienced institutions of the project and filling the mentioned gap in Turkey.
