Our world is increasingly interconnected. Global challenges such as growing inequalities, climate change, conflicts and degradation of our natural environment, drop out problems, lack of knowladge regarding to civic rights are several contemporary problems of the world and each individual. The wellbeing of this and future generations, and of our European Union and our planet, depends on the progress we make in achieving inclusive and green economic development, in full respect of democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights. In the light of all these problems, Sustainable development objectives have been at the heart of European policy for a long time to ensure the equal rights & opportunities for all. When we look at the Key Competences of Erasmus+ Program, we can obviously create the link between Key Competences and UN Sustainable Development Goals. In our project, "Sense of Iniative and Entrepreneurship is linked with Decent work and economic growth; Social Competences for women in NEET has link with Reducing Inequalities; Learning to Learn is directly associating with Quality in Education; Civic Competences have direct link with Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions". All these competences and UNSDGs are complementary for each other and foresee such inclusive and sustainable development. All these goals and competences will help to improve the socially to increase their self-confidence, creating new opportunities and ways to be active part of their societies, being physicall and mentally active in present. Our project is based on the numeric datas of young people (aged 20 to 34) neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET). According to Eurostat Statistics on young people neither in employment nor in education or training, 17.2 % of the 20-34 olds in the EU in 2017 in' NEETs'. Across the EU Member States there can be seen a wide variation in NEET rates in 2017. When we analyze the facts through sex and age categories, there is a considerable difference between the sexes in relation to the proportion of young people who were NEET. The women in NEET in Turkey appears with 52.4% and Macedonia with 44.4%, France follows these two with 21.4% percentage. After we see all these numbers, we believe that prevention of high women NEET rate is passing by raising awareness and improving the key competences of these young women to involve them as more active parts of our societies. In order to make this change happen, our methodology will be based on the usage of sport for social excluded groups in our societies. We know that sport can strengthen the boundaries of vulnureable groups with societies. In the light of this argument, we will design all of our thematical trainings by using Sport Methodologies. We want to ensure the women participation by using an interactive, joyful and motivatory sportive activities. Also these methods will help to women in NEET to socialize easily and express themselves by non-verbal communication channels too. To lead this process successfully, we want to improve the competences of adult educators to produce participant-centered methods and methodologies through sport. Due to all these inputs, out project aims to: - Raising the Entrepreneurial, Social and Civic competences of young women between 20-34 ages in NEET to tackle with low-skills - Using sport as an effective tool to invite socially-excluded groups to be an active part of society - Promoting UN Sustainable Development Goals and Erasmus+ Competences to reach global welfare and sustainable communities In order to reach this objectives, we have planned to organize 4 Learning, Teaching Training Activities, 2 for the Adult Educators and 2 for the People in NEET. 20 Educators and 60 people in NEET will be involved. In the Local Trainings which are going to be run by Adult Educators ( who participated in C activities ) , 250 people in NEET will be involved and raised their 4 competences which are Learning to Learn ; Social & Civic Competences ; Sense of Initiative and Entrepreneurship ; Cultural awareness and Expression . Two Intellectual outputs will be prepared during the project life time which are 1 - A Manual for Adult Educators about "Tool Development through Sport" 2 - A Toll Box about " Sport for Sustainable Development" on the web page www.sport4sgd.com and a Training Kit .
Based on consortium's know-how on using Sport for Women Empowerment, we have observed that sport helps to people to recognize & develop their potential, gaining new skills and values, avoiding social exclusion and inequalities in societies. With the recognition of sport as educational tool by UN and Council of Europe, we wanted to enhance the Sport for Skill Development could be an initiating point to combat high rates of women in NEET across the EU but particularly in 4 countries where our consortium is consisting of. In line with this motivation, we wanted to reach these objectives: - Raising the Entrepreneurial, Social and Civic, Learning to Learn competences of young women between 20-34 ages in NEET to tackle low-skills - Increasing the recognition for Adult Education providers to use sport as an effective tool to invite socially-excluded groups to be an active part of society - Promoting UN Sustainable Development Goals and Key Competences to reach sustainable communities With the help of long-term cooperation with organizations; we wanted to increase the recognition of Sport for Soft Skill Development in Adult Education to provide the learning methods to raise the key competences of the women between 20-34 years old.
Our project’s starting point is based on the numeric data of young people (aged 20 to 34) in NEET. According to Eurostat Statistics, 17.2% of the 20-34 old in the EU in 2017 considered as NEETs. In 2017, more than one fifth (21.5 %) of young women in the EU-28 were NEETs. Turkey (52.4%) and Macedonia (44.4%) with the highest rates of women in NEET. France follows these two with 21.4%. On the other side, Slovenia relatively can be considered in better position but even in Slovenia, 1 over 7 women is in NEET. In light of these statistics, young women are more at risk of becoming NEETs in almost all countries. We have seen the prevention mechanisms to combat high rate of women’s NEET Statiscs are deriving from the increasing quality in Life-Long Learning settings to positively impact the raising awareness and improving the key competences of these young women to involve them as more active parts of our societies. To make this change, we believe that Adult Educators' role are crucial. With 2030 Agenda of UN for Sustainable Development and recognition of Sport as one of the education tool, we wanted to equip the Adult Education providers to implement hidden-agenda sport trainings to improve the key competences of women in NEET.
