We wanted to offer students and staff the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of cultures outside the UK giving them a different, European dimension to their learning and teaching. We also wanted learners to gain real life experience in activity linking their theoretical learning to practice and developing their understanding of the world of work in a European context.
The College had received ERASMUS funding for many years prior to this particular project's inception. Consequently we had been able to offer mobility programmes and all the inherent benefits of participating in these for many years and we wanted to continue offering this valuable opportunity to students. The benefits to our staff and students of participating in the scheme are manifold and enabled us to enhance the European dimension of the college.
