Objectives

Our aim was to develop the skills of our adult education tutors, the managers and administrators in Gecko, and within organizations with whom we collaborate to deliver Adult Ed programs, and the strategic partnership that underpins this delivery. Objectives for us that linked and complemented our EDP directly, it involved:: For Us 1) increasing our capacity to manage EU projects. The project provided a real opportunity to test, develop and shape adult practice for us and partner organization needs in the UK. At the same time, it gave us a good opportunity to enhance our partnership by working with partners from across the EU 2) a better understanding of Adult Education practice across other EU states, The objectives for our Trainers and employers involved: 1) Motivated staff with new skills and experiences 2) Savings in organizational training and CPD budgets (given the current climate to cut costs and scarce resources It is evident that the project has met its objectives, it has increased the knowledge and skills of our trainers and in doing so helped trainers to reflect on and improve provision in the UK. This should be recognized in the current context, where managing mobilities in Spain has posed with Covid and changes at GP

Background

The project sought to enable our trainers to examine and test Adult Education and Training Methodologies used by partners to engage support, and train disadvantaged groups, by helping them to develop skills in order to be able to access learning, and training and then move into labor market opportunities. It helped us to improve adult Education provision for us and our partners in the UK Through this project, we seek to train our trainers with innovative adult education methodologies that can be applied in the UK or more broadly with other EU organizations seeking to meet the needs of this client group, who tend to be poorly qualified and facing higher levels of deprivation and disadvantage. The training course will provide an opportunity for our trainers to examine, test, and explore the teaching methods used to engage, teach, and up-skill learners of all ages so they can become a productive part of society. Our trainers would explore adult education enterprise, engagement, training systems, progression routes, and dealing with complex barriers to learning. As a training provider, this project has enabled us to design and deliver learning programs, for service users who can be considered as 'hard to reach adults returning to learning
