An exchange of skills & ideas on 3 fronts, traditional, environmental & archaeological, to be used in UK-based adult education training plus the empowerment of EU partners through recognition of their training competence. The personal development of the trainers in Grampus & its UK network - for some, especially the 6 completing job shadowing, the testing the idea of international training abroad, as part of their careers. The continuance of our (some cases) 25-year old partnership, despite the changes through BREXIT & the making some of the partnership (UK & EU) fit for entering the Turing training scheme, which can test training developed in PRIDE on adults in education & training. Especially for Cyprus, Slovakia & Romania - strongest partners during the Global Pandemic, focused help to make their training offer secure for a changed future. Fine tuning of our own curriculum (co-owned by 4 EU partners) developed through 25+ years of EU training & education activity. Re-capturing skills lost in the UK, with a careful focusing on the most important, in the light of BREXIT. A greater understanding & delivery of true sustainability considering environmental, cultural, social & economic factors (4-pillars of sustainability).
This is the 3rd version of PRIDE & each time we assessed A E Staff training needs of our 11 UK consortium partners, the needs of Grampus Heritage & the 12 receiving partners. We applied for the project to ensure a vibrant & relevant exchange of information to be used in downstream adult education training. For the UK partners & Grampus it remained important (more so due to BREXIT) to recapture skills in danger of being lost in the UK, but still existing in a wider Europe. The skills fall into 3 categories; 1. traditional handicraft skills like basket & mosaic making, clay plastering, embroidery. 2. environmental like combating climate change & recognising changes in natural patterns & low impact intervention in wildlife management; plus using natural rather than imported or synthetic products. 3.archaeological skills in survey, excavation, finds management, oral history. For the A E Staff who attended PRIDE STC's, the need was to collect skills & competences to be inserted into training back in the UK. For our European partners, we wanted to help them to fulfill their objectives also....to cement their link to A E staff training in the UK & empower their staff on the ground by seeing how eagerly their offer was received.
