Background

Learn to Re-create's had identified needs in the area of quality development and internationalisation that involved training staff members to gain new teaching methods and enable them to upgrade their skills to develop garment technology competences for manufacture which led me to apply for the project. We wanted to increase our staff competencies so that Learn to Re-create could run a competitive business and create a dialogue between educational institutions and Fashion businesses to adopt teaching and learning methods that were driven by business needs. Furthermore, we wanted to see more sharing of knowledge and collaborative working amongst learners, businesses and stakeholders within the Fashion Industry. Our needs included developing the capacity of staff that deliver learning and training programmes to provide a high standard of teaching and deliver high quality learning experiences. In addition, staff involved in the production of garments and accessories would have the opportunity to develop their working knowledge and understand applications of new garment technology whilst support staff would acquire effective project management skills.
