Objectives

Life expectancy in Europe has increased during recent decades due to better living standards and good medical care. But, at the same time, physical inactivity, increasing tobacco use, excessive consumption of alcohol and poor diet and nutrition, are increasingly becoming part of today’s lifestyle leading to the rapid rise of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or obesity. Nowadays in Europe overweight affects about 50% and obesity 20% of the population. Additionally, changes in lifestyle during recent decades such as: stress, the overuse of sedentary entertainment (television, computers, cell phones, and videogames, and the lack of face to face communication) have negative impact on. The following specific objectives: To explore the concept of healthy lifestyle; To discuss current issues related to the nutrition and sports; To provide participants with opportunities to improve their physical and health competences; To empower youngsters to multiply competencies gained during the Youth Exchange; To promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for health education and, to raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.
