The goal of the The Mixed Migration project was to raise awareness of refugee issues and the social realities they face in a transit country such as Turkey for civil society representatives within the project partnership. This allows the members of the partnership to have a realistic approach to future projects involving refugees. The Mixed Migration was the first study visit organized by AFROLUSO and was a success in terms of the results. All the objectives initially foreseen for this project were fulfilled as follows: 1. We stimulated the interaction of the 50 youth workers participating in the activities held in Istanbul, Turkey by providing space for the exchange of experiences, knowledge and views to learn constructively about the topic from each other and from local experts and other persons of interest. The most representative sessions of the work programme were: Fears and expectations; NGO Bazaar; National cases about refugees; The multiple study visits in the region; Compilation of the final Study Visit Report. The participants appreciated in particular the freedom offered by presenting the sending organizations, as well as choosing the non-formal manner in which to create the Study Visit Report. 2. We gave the 50 participants a program of activities to get acquainted with a multitude of issues faced by migrants and refugees in the region of Istanbul. There were several study visits performed involving a total number of local actors. After each study visit, a debriefing session took place, in which participants could receive explanations about the mechanism of this method, the purpose of each visit and be able to ask very specific questions from the local persons of interest (academics, teachers, NGO workers, journalists, volunteers, as well as to the refugees themselves). At the same time, space was provided for the participants to reflect on the learned information. 3. An electronic Study Visit Report was created containing a number of activities the youth workers have been through during the implementation of this project and they consider them important to share. The report contains concrete data (facts and figures) about migration and refugees in the region of Marmara Sea of Turkey (IstanbulCity), as well as in some of the national countries. Also, there are interviews, photos and testimonials both from participants and different persons of interest which came in contact with the participants (refugees and children of refugees, academics, teachers, journalists, public authorities, etc). The report is available in printed form and electronically and all international partners of this project have taken various actions to popularize it through their web pages and Facebook. (See those links at dissemination part) 4. We developed cooperation and communication between partner organizations in this project by creating online tools: the official Facebook group of The Mixed Migration at the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/173813957356841 . Also, several sketches with ideas for new youth projects related to migration and refugees were prepared, according to Erasmus + specifications, through teamwork of the participants. The official Facebook group has been used at all stages of the project (preparation, implementation, follow-up) and is still being used at the time of this report, especially for communication between the participants and the project team, information and photo / video entertaining activities initiated by participants. The official blog contains technical information about the training course, photographs showing a retrospective of the activities (on thematic days), the non-formal brochure, information about the involved partners and about Erasmus +. At the same time, the blog is centralized evidence of the various dissemination actions undertaken by the organizations and participants of this project.
