Volunteers, youngsters and leaders from UK “Subtiluship”, Lithuania "Inovatyvi karta", and (Institute of Ukrainian Studies) initiates project “Make a Change”. We have noted that nowadays youngsters lack certain skills, such as critical thinking, confidence, pro activeness in order to achieve something in social or professional life. They also tend to be passive when it comes to decision making therefore do not foresee bright future and tend to passively wait for whatever comes to their life’s. Situation sometimes seems like from the book “Alice in Wonderland” when Alice asked the Cat: “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”. As Alice did not have specific goal, cat responded that it doesn’t matter which way she would go. As her goal was just to get somewhere, the Cat added: “Oh, you’re sure to do that, if you only walk long enough.” We believe that young people do have capabilities to choose, to think critically, be initiative and become the masters of their own destiny. The only thing that is missing- certain knowledge about it and encouragement. If we look from coaching perspective, Tim Gallwey, tennis coach who applied the principle of coaching in 70’s, summarizes this approach as “awareness of where you are now is not enough to bring about the change; you have to know where you want to get to”.He understood the importance and advantage of enabling people to learn about themselves and noticed that youngsters performed better when they were taught how to learn rather than how to hit a ball. Therefore, we take described approach as a basis in order to initiate the project “Make a Change”. The name of the project is related to Michael Jackson song that encouraged millions of people and now it will encourage this group: “If you want to make the world a better place/ Take a look at yourself, and then make a change”. Song “Man in the mirror” might become an anthem of the project, if participants would fancy. The aim of this project is divided in two parts: 1. to improve dialogue between different cultures, religions, promote diversity, foster inclusion of youth and young refugees, and 2. enhance critical thinking and media literacy of youngsters which would lead to the pro activeness and sense of initiative. In order to achieve the aim, following objectives have been planned: 1. Understand what the stereotype is and overcome it with critical thinking; 2. To raise awareness about the discrimination, tackling the issue of IDP's and refugees, understand its roots; 3. Become culturally competent and understand the components of diversity; 4. Understand coaching approach, be able to use it in the daily life to enhance critical thinking skills and take control for own actions and thoughts; 5. To improve sense of initiative through inclusion of youngsters to daily life activities such as cooking, cleaning, organizing free time space in evenings, leading various sessions and workshops; 6. Spread the knowledge of Erasmus+ programme therefore youngsters and organisations would be able to take advantage of it; 7. Improve 8 key competences. Learning approach of this project is participative and learners- centered. Methods are outside the formal educational curriculum therefore high quality non-formal learning dimension is the key element to successful project implementation. In this project, we have combined the knowledge of participating organizations and concentrated to non-formal education methods related to art and outdoor education. One of the main aspect here is to give equal opportunities for everyone through social inclusion using art and outdoor education as the main tools.
