The world is changing and the way our new generations must be prepared for a new labour context is changing, or at least it should be changing. But, is the educational system preparing future generations to thrive in this changing landscape? While we can’t predict exactly what our workforce needs will be in the middle of the century, we already know they are changing and will continue to change with the rate of technological advancement. The World Economic Forum has identified there are skills in decline (such as manual dexterity, memory, technology use or management of personal), the WEF sets a new list of growing skills whit a small presence of pure technological ones and predominance of “human” intrapersonal and interpersonal skills: 1 analytical thinking and innovation 2 Active learning and learning strategies 3 Creativity, originality and initiative 4 Technology design and programming 5 Critical thinking and analysis 6 Complex problem solving 7 Leadership and social influence 8 Emotional intelligence 9 Reasoning, problem solving and ideation 10 System analysis and evaluation This inspires a firm proposal of reskilling pathways for human capital in disrupted industries and jobs to migrate to growing jobs or industries, collaborating with a wide range of data providers, to offer a realistic and specific view of reskilling and upskilling opportunities. Here is where FS2022 wants to focus, thinking in a pyramidal structure which will take as departure point VET students with the idea to affect, in a mid-long term, a working population and a better trained society in these new and essential human skills. FS2022 project brings together a partnership of seven partners in six countries, who are cross-sectorial and will combine their collective expertise and new research to prepare and produce 40 audio and video clips to be used as training pills to raise both business and staff understanding of the above skills and to retrain approach and thinking in these key areas. We will achieve this through active partner participation at all points in a programme of two intellectual outputs, five partner meetings, seven Multiplier Events (105 participants) and one train the trainer event (14 participants). The world of work as we know is continually evolving and technological advances have led to a changing skill set required to be successful in the workplace. The long-term results of this project will be to provide materials to assist businesses and individuals prepare and up-skill themselves for the future. Through our dissemination (project website, social media, five newsletters, face to face meetings etc.) and our Sustainability Strategy we will ensure the results have the profile and awareness to be rolled out in both partner and other European countries,
By Implementing this project the partnership wanted to achieve the knowledge through professionals, managers, HR managers and entrepreneurs how they used skills in the work force and what benefits have they gained by using these skills. Another important element of the project was to develop the podcasts and videos which are accessible through the website and act as a online training so individuals and organisations could do the training and learn about skills in their own time to enhance their knowledge. Workforce is evolving world and with COVID pandemic it was even more prevalent that how important these skills are for us. ARID: had their own motive to implement this project. To deliver modern and innovative training for their beneficiaries. They also wanted to involve the target groups within the development of the project so it will inspire them to get engaged in EU projects. I&F aimed to continue implementing the activities developed in Future Skills 2022 which fitted well within their organisational work. Podcasts and Videos would enhance their training courses which they offer locally. APSU objectives in the project were to develop new tools to improve the upskilling and reskilling of the Portuguese labour force.
The reason for applying for this project was to create podcasts and video of the skills that were going to be needed in the 2022 and beyond. The labour market is changing all the time and with COVID pandemic it has been seen how individuals and organisations had to adapt to new way of working and thinking. Being creative, innovate, critical thinking, flexible and problem solving became part of the life suddenly. Use of IT tools equally doubled during COVID. The project was going to address skills which would be more needed in 2022 but the COVID pandemic forced people to adapt to these kills sooner than later. Workforce and organisations had to be innovative and flexible. For partners it was seeking new opportunities to develop the training skills and new methods of trainings. That’s why they chose to be part of innovative and modern project which could give partners new content and new methods for the trainings.
