Project summary

"Social Entrepreneurship Seeds" (SES) addresses the identification of existing best practices and the development of support schemes for the extent and develop the competencies of educators and other personnel who support adult learners on Social Entrepreneurship in partner countries and at the European level. The project will foster the priorities listed through a coherent flow of activities developing across the 24 months of the cooperation and including Transnational Meetings, production of Reports, development and testing of entrepreneurial methodologies in 3 different yet interconnected Blended Mobilities of Adult Learners.
The project deploys an approach grounded on Non Formal Education (NFE) and learning tackling the gap in basic and transversal skills at the level of ultimate adult targets with a view to providing sensitive categories of the adult population with the range of basic abilities for a full integration at the level of society and the labour market. The educational methodology will be Non-Formal Education, complemented by the educational use of Urban Needs’ Analysis, Storytelling, Intercultural Communication and ICT as specific interrelated steps in a self-contained programme of entrepreneurial development. “Social Entrepreneurship Seeds” pursues the following specific objectives: - Contrasting adult unemployment through developing Social Entrepreneurship potential and related soft/transversal skills in low-skilled or low-qualified adults through Urban Needs’ Analysis, Storytelling, ICT and Intercultural Communication. - Researching and comparing existing European good practices of Social Entrepreneurship education of adult learners through Urban Needs’ Analysis, Storytelling, Marketing and Intercultural Communication. - Producing state-of-the-art Reports outlining the existing landscape of European good practices. - Elaboration of a set of Toolkits and of a comprehensive Format representing a useful practical reference for NGO and stakeholders' operators and entities interested in fostering entrepreneurial development of adult learners. - Developing a network among organisations experienced in the field of entrepreneurial empowerment of low-skilled and low-qualified adult learners. The project will have two Transnational Project Meetings - Kick off Meeting (M2) and Final Evaluation Meeting (M23). Aso the project foresees the implementation of 3 different Adult Learners Blended Mobilities, as follows: 1) First Adult Learners Blended Mobility in Lithuania, hosted by the Lithuanian partner organization ESEISI in Klaipeda. 2) Second Adult Learners Blended Mobility in Poland, hosted by the partner organization FEIO in Orzesze. 3)Third Adult Learners Blended Mobility in Romania, hosted by the partner ADAPT in Valea Mare. Participants in project Adult Learners Blended Mobilities (the same participants will take part in the 3 activities) will be low-skilled and low-qualified adults aged 25+ (6 per partner country) The total number of participants per each activity will, therefore, be 30. In M20 and M21 each partner organisation will implement a Dissemination Conference with the involvement of relevant stakeholders in each partner country. “Social Entrepreneurship Seeds” purports itself to achieve this far-reaching outcome by mean of capitalising on the potential of non-formal learning and experiential learning as agents of entrepreneurial education, extracting the added value of existing best practices across countries and sectors with a view to releasing educational. Toolkits to be directly tested with ultimate adult learners targets in 3 different Blended Mobilities of Adult Learners and processed in a comprehensive educational Format. Throughout the educational pattern deployed by the project, adult learners will be supported indirectly enhancing soft and transversal skills (flexibility, planning, teamwork, self-oriented learning, creativity, entrepreneurial mindset and skills, digital skills) as well as be supported in developing their schemes of social entrepreneurship initiatives. In this line of reasoning and action, the project enhances directly the priorities set forth by the 2008 EU Recommendation on Key Competences and Lifelong Learning, with a particular reference to developing appropriate provisions for adult learners affected by educational disadvantage to fulfil their educational potential.

Background

“Social Entrepreneurship Seeds” deploys a complementary approach as compared with existing practices in light of the methodology and the scope of cooperation. In the phase of designing the present proposals, partner organisations jointly deployed a coordinated research aimed at arriving at an assessment of the existing landscape of European projects and initiatives focusing specifically on the development of Social Entrepreneurship, related skills and useful instruments as a pathway to employability for low-qualified and low-skilled adult learners. In accordance to their areas of concern and expertise in working with adult learners, partner organisations had decided to focus specifically on the entrepreneurial empowerment of low-qualified and low-skilled adult learners, representing a major focus in light of the experience matured by all partners in working with them.
