In this youth worker mobility we gathered 19 youth and social workers from 8 different organisations for a high level training seminar on the Rückenwind method in Innbruck/Maria Waldrast, Austria, from 8.5. to 12.5.2022. We had planned to run the activity already in spring 2020, but then COVID changed the reality of European youth mobilities, and in May 2022 we were still experiencing a sort of „long COVID“ in the youth sector. The original main objective of consolidating Rueckenwind's partner network thus proved to be even more important, as it was now a matter of restoring and fostering the links that had been loosened during the almost two-year pandemic. Comparing the different situations in the countries present and sharing experiences on how to deal with the impact of COVID was one of the first topics before we reconnected with the work done so far in the area of standards and of strategy work. Based on our Rueckenwind strategy papers, we worked on a short outline for facilitators of Rueckenwind projects. We also had a session dedicated to the future development of the Rueckenwind network, discussing the draft of a memorandum of understanding and taking the decision to further improve and formalise the network. We agreed to try to apply for Euroepan funding for non-formal networks with the next deadline (a deadline that we finally were not able to keep - mainly due to the open question of the co-financment rate of 20% of the budget applied for).
