Results for the technical teachers/school: * our technical teachers gain more experience that can be implemented in their way of teaching. * the technical teachers of electricity/electronics/ICT inform the Technical Advisor who will try to find out (together with other TA's and the school director) if the obtained expertise can be implemented in our department of electricity/electronics/ICT (afterwards in other departments). * teachers let their students collaborate (eg students of the ICT department can design domotics KNX and students of the electricity department can install it) * with regard to internationalization : teachers of other departments will be involved and we will try to find out if these projects (of job shadowing) can have an added value for other departments. Results for the students: * technical teachers involved transfer (share) the expertise that they gained to students * by doing so we hope to avoid a drop-out of students * our students are better prepared for the labor market by the new knowledge that they obtained. * we tackle some specific needs * we hope that our students will consider participating in an Erasmus+ project of doing internships abroad which will increase several of their skills .
Hast is a secondary school (technical industry) in Hasselt (Limburg) and because of the changing educational landscape we realized that we are confronted (in our department of electricity/electronics/ICT) with some specific needs. * in the field of KNX (domotics=home automation): our technical teachers are not so familiar with domotics KNX. By gaining expertise abroad, one technical teacher can teach our students how to design domotics, another technical teacher can teach his students how to install it. * in the field of electronics: at this moment still little experience in our school, we hoped this could be solved by jobshadowing. * in the field of engineering: we had some questions that hopefully could be answered by this jobshadowing * in the field of STEM-departments: Finland is far ahead in this area, their expertise can help us a lot . From our previous Erasmus+projects we have learned that it can also be very enriching to look over the borders. That's why we wanted to add an European dimension to find a solution and by realizing job shadowing we could add an international and intercultural added value to the STEM-departments
