We aim to raise awareness of human rights issues, enhance equality, and promote democracy through creativity and artistic expressions. We intend to facilitate the creation of spaces that encourage deep reflections on the challenges affecting the youth of today. We strive to achieve social transformation by utilising non-violent forms of activism such as visual art, murals and street art A set of below objectives have been set in the pursuit of reaching the above-mentioned aims: - to explore, reflect upon and have a conversation about the human rights challenges faced by youth in today’s Europe - to share and discuss know-how and practices oh human rights activism, specifically creative non-violent actions - to celebrate cultural diversity and facilitate intercultural learning - to create free and open environment that fosters self-expression, amplifies creativity, and encourages sharing and generating new ideas - to equip young people with knowledge in human rights, democratic citizenship and participation - to acquire know-how and practical skills in street-art, mural art and other visual art methods - to help youth develop their critical human rights consciousness - to raise a critical understanding of their own realities and empower them to become active democratic citizens who stand up for human rights - to promote activism and campaigning skills through creativity - to empower young people to express themselves through visual arts, by learning and by doing - to spread youth voices using visual art field - to promote human rights and democracy as Europe’s values We believe that art can act as an excellent catalyst for human rights education for youth, strengthening the understanding of the major issues and unleashing their power to act toward positive change. Sometimes the language of the human rights professionals, whether conveyed by the practitioners, the activists, the lawyers, etc. is not resonating as we expected it to. That’s when the field of arts can help, as it transcends barriers, such as politics and language, and fulfils a significant role in terms of telling stories about our past, our present, and our futures. Storytelling through art is a powerful medium, stimulating emotional response among its audience. While emotions drive decisions, art can inspire people to act as advocates for human rights causes. Art can help one cope with one’s own suffering. Art can change hearts and minds. This is why we believe in art as a great tool providing a transformative educational experience for young people.
