Objectives

“Theatre as a tool for personal growth and intercultural dialogue” is a project for educators, youth workers and young people who are interested in theatre. The project aims to provide participants with new skills to use in their private life, in the profession and in the artistic work. Theatre has to be understood as a tool to improve our inner world, to discover our potentialities and to go over our limits, knowing ourselves and going towards the other, to enrich ourselves through dialogue and meeting with other persons with cultures different from ours. The objectives of the project: to train youth educators and trainers to use theatre as a tool of intercultural dialogue and community development, focusing on different aspects directly experienced by youth leaders in their different social realities in Europe and the Middle East while encouraging more responsible and respectful behavior of the society, as well as exchanging different methods and approaches in order to foster relationships, communication, improving skills in the field of creativity, social inclusion, tolerance and diversity. Where general objectives are: - to increase quality of activities targeting young people in partner’s organizations; - to encourage youth educators to learn about theatre and its relation in education and society, and enable them to develop their knowledge in these areas from specific situations in the countries where they live, their personal experiences and through exchanges of good practices; - to equip youth workers with new skills, attitudes, knowledge and new tools for the realization or development of projects related to theatre in education and society development, and the implementation of intercultural youth projects; - to analyze the specificities of intercultural youth project management related to theatre education and community development; - to provide space to share and exchange methods and techniques of work with young people; - to support long term cooperation between the partners under Erasmus + Programme. The project objectives are in line with goals and objectives of Erasmus + Programme set for year 2018: Active participation of young people, reaching out to marginalized young people, promoting diversity, sense of initiative of young people and equipping youth workers with competences and methods needed for transferring the common fundamental values of our society particularly to the hard to reach young people and preventing violent radicalization of young people as well. By this project and by developing competencies of youth workers working with young people on daily bases we will increase the quality of services and provide young people in partner communities new opportunities. It means we will support their active involvement in the society. The project reflects Europe 2020 strategy as it aims to improve the quality of services for young people and creating more inclusive environments in participant’s communities.
