Objectives

The project idea was created in order to help the young people realize their role and influence in society, and trust their impact in terms of Human Rights education and the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development, active citizenship, youth involvement. The general idea of the project is to work closely with young people from Bulgaria, Georgia, North Macedonia, Portugal and Italy, as often young people feel left behind from the agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and they don’t associate themselves as the stakeholders of the implementation process, when being part of the process build ownership and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals requires working not only horizontally across policy sectors, but vertically among community, local, national, regional and global authorities, together with civil society stakeholders, including youth. Moreover, critical to the success of the 2030 Agenda are the role of young people in engaging with local and national government in delivering on policies and programs on the ground. Therefore, we would like to organize a seven days long youth exchange where young people and youth activists can meet each other, have the ground to share the best practices, new ideas and elaborate common vision about SDGs. The overall objectives of the project are to: - build skills, knowledge and attitudes related to Human Rights by addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 3 – Good Health and Well-being, 4 – Quality Education, 5 - Gender Equality; - give the participants the chance to express their opinion freely and allow a space for them to design their own SDGs activities, in order to implement them on local level for their peers; - get participants acquainted with the principles of non-formal education, human rights education, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; - use peer education as an approach to support young people in multiplying human rights education, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and related topics in their communities; - encourage young people to contribute towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), referred to the European agenda 2020.
