In the modern world, critical thinking and media literacy are fundamental skills that make it easier to navigate the information flow. The ability to communicate competently in all media forms is of utmost importance to any modern young person. That is why the development of media literacy is a priority of the European Commission and is a topical topic for educational projects. According to a national representative survey among children aged 9-17 and their parents, conducted at the end of 2016 by the National Safer Internet Center, more than half of Bulgarian children and adolescents can not distinguish true from false information. The same is recognized by 40% of their parents. The study shows that, after years of active Internet use, more than half of them have no criteria of true and false. The results from a number of other studies indicate that in recent years Bulgaria is among the countries with the lowest media literacy in Europe. The seriousness of the problem and the need to find adequate solutions is also reflected in the fact that during the school year 2018/2019 for the first time the MON provided for hours of media literacy in schools. On the other hand, the availability of low media literacy also has a significant impact on the formation of those young people who are keen to develop professionally in the media world. They must be supported and guided in the process of building a value system that will help them to resist and be able to resist the "rough values" of the market in their professional development. In 2017, our Association participated in a project "Learn About Us - Creating and Spreading an ENewsletter" at a library at Chitalshte " Prosveta - 1937", village of Kutovo. Within this project we created 4 Young Journalist clubs in different settlements from Vidin Municipality. These clubs included a total of 20 children and young people who underwent special training. Then they actively participated in the creation of electronic newsletters reflecting the activities of the Chitalishte in the region. Part of these young people are also the initiators of this project. Their desire to expand their knowledge and to improve their coping skills in today's dynamic information world motivates us to find European partners with similar interests and experience on the subject and to develop this proposal. Through this project, we aim to focus young people's attention on creating and enhancing media literacy. To give them the opportunity to share experiences, practices and knowledge with peers fromother countries; to develop knowledge, values and a wide range of skills. The specific goals we set are: - Developing the sense of the European Union as a community of values and the development of skills for European value choice; - Develop a common understanding of the problem of intolerance and hatred in society, as well as the causes and mechanisms of xenophobia; - Strengthen tolerance and European solidarity among young people and stimulate their active citizenship and intolerance towards xenophobia and aggression; - Sharing good practices and creating sustainable partnerships between organizations from different European countries. The objectives of the project fully meet the objectives of the Erasmus + program for cooperation and exchange of good practices; to enhance the key competences and competences of young people, as well as to increase their media literacy, critical thinking and ethical work within the media space.
