Objectives

The need to improve the quality and relevance of the skills and competences that young Europeans have has been recognised at both national and European level. Moreover, given the current situation in Europe, with high rates of youth unemployment and, in some cases, serious skills mismatches, it is urgent to address this issue. More than 3.3 million young people (aged 15-24 years) are unemployed in 2019 in the EU. In 2018, more than 5.5 million young people (aged 15-24 years) were neither in employment nor in education or training (NEETs) in the EU. Although it has decreased – from 24% in 2013 to less than 15% in 2019 – the youth unemployment rate is still very high in the EU (with peaks of more than 30% in several countries) and more than double the overall unemployment rate (less than 7%) and masks big differences between countries. COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION of 22 May 2018 on key competences for lifelong learning: People need the right set of skills and competences to sustain current standards of living, support high rates of employment and foster social cohesion in the light of tomorrow’s society and world of work. Supporting people across Europe in gaining the skills and competences needed for personal fulfilment, health, employability and social inclusion helps to strengthen Europe’s resilience in a time of rapid and profound change. Most countries have made significant progress in incorporating key competences into national curricula and other official documents. Key competences contribute decisively to economic growth and employment, and help European countries to keep pace with a constantly evolving demand for competences. For these reasons we have decided to apply for the COMPETENCES FOR LIFE Training Course, a course focused on the development of key competences within the concept of non-formal education with emphasis on supporting creativity, inclusion and entrepreneurship, to improve the state in the labour market and with application in international youth projects and personal development. Objectives 1 Develop the skills and capacity of youth leaders/workers in partner organisations, especially creativity, invention and entrepreneurship. 2 Analyse the potential of Erasmus+ projects towards the labour market and personal development. 3 Create quality non-formal methods/projects addressing key competences and their implementation. 4 Finding common understanding and the link between creativity, inclusion and entrepreneurship to put into practice 5 Share and exchange experiences with other participants. 6 Support the creation of quality contacts and networks. Within the objectives and expected results within the project, we want to highlight and relate with the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme the following: -To improve the level of skills and key competences of workers in the field of youth. (This training course will provide the participants with tools, activities, workshops and methods to be able to work better and improve their competences) (Objectives 1,3,4) - Promote better quality in youth work, in particular through increased cooperation between youth organisations and other interested parties (through activities, exchange of experience, session of future projects, and mixed work activities between participants, we will encourage cooperation between and their organisations at European level) (Objective 2,5,6) These objectives and results of the program match perfectly with the objectives set within of the project, the activities and the organised programme.
