Objectives

The primary focus is on the participants. In addition to the support of mobility, the teaching of values, key competences and social integration can be defined as key objectives. The support of mobility is an important prerequisite for equal opportunities and social participation. Communicating shared values such as freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights will be taught through dealing with the various dimensions of strangeness. This experience takes place in intercultural dialogue. All these encounters create horizon extensions, identity education, challenges, self-confidence and finally empathy. This is a basic prerequisite for a solidary and cross-border coexistence. Key competence education in the activity means that young people with fewer opportunities have the chance to work on improving the key competences and skills that will help them in their lives. These include conflict resolution, empathy and solidarity. The overriding aim of the learning process is the strengthening of individual social, intercultural and linguistic competences. The sensitization and reflection of learning processes takes place on the levels of self-assessment and perception of others. The project "ciao!Prohlis" as a learning process focuses overall on mother and foreign language competence, personal initiative, critical thinking and self-reflexive competence as well as cultural awareness and cultural expression. The peer-to-peer educational approach also strengthens participation and disadvantaged young people develop a sense of responsibility in the group. The following levels can be subsumed under the goal of social integration. By addressing the main theme of "social inequality", solidarity and tolerance should be promoted and active citizenship should be strengthened. At the higher level, this means that young people with fewer opportunities participate in the chances of the EU and to show them their possibilities, which in our view is a key to social inclusion. The goal within the council of youth work is for us to further develop the internationalization strategies on the basis of the practical experiences and their evaluation, which further improves the quality of youth work. Especially in the context of street work and open youth work, Erasmus + should be seen more as an opportunity to catch up on international encounters for young people with few opportunities. In addition, we want to reach the social environment of the young people. In this way, reporting on the Youth Exchange and its positive effect on the participants should convey European values and illustrate them in concrete terms. The target group ranges from acquaintances of young people to newspaper readers. Other young people, especially those with few opportunities, can identify with the participants, for example, thereby encouraging their own interest in international networking. In addition, especially in the mostly Eurosceptic citizenship of Dresden and Saxony, decidedly positive publications on intercultural experiences represent a significant counterpoint to right-wing populism.
