Objectives

According to the Hate Speech Watch launched by No Hate Speech Movement number of Hate, Speech cases increased rapidly. Tolerance and non-discrimination through education violent extremism and terrorist attacks have surged across Europe and are posing a threat not only to the safety of its citizens but also to its fundamental values of freedom, democracy, equality, respect for the rule of law, human rights and dignity. The alarming developments stand in direct opposition to the vision of a European society characterized by pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and gender equality. In this regard, role of non-formal education and youth work can be applied in order; - to support processes of intercultural dialogue and work on intercultural competences of youngsters - to promote democratic values and fundamental rights, social inclusion and non- discrimination, as well as interactive dialogue. So we saw that non-formal education as a tool to address the needs mentioned to fight against Hate Speech and various forms of Human Rights there should be a combination of online and offline actions and we wanted to achieve to create an awareness on all that both by raising the capacity of the youth workers and then to transfer it to young people and also spread it all by them organizing activities and exploit the effect. Therefore we wanted to implement the idea of the "Youth to Combat Hate Speech" (YCHS)'' project in order to achieve following objectives; - to raise awareness about hate speech online and the risks it has for fueling the conflicts and individual young people; - to develop the skills and motivation for young people to recognize online hate speech and to become ‘online activists’ for human rights; - to provide the participants with tools to organize online and off-line campaigns focused on combating with hate speech and by these means to provide the multiplying effect for the project; - to build capacities of the partner organizations involved in the project for building cohesive and peaceful communities; - to provide the strong multiplying effect of the project among young people; - to strengthen the network of young people and youth organizations working on combating hate speech online in Europe through the No Hate Speech Movement and National Campaigns. - to equip young people and youth organizations with tools to combat hate speech online; Moreover, we wanted the project to correspond as designed, to the objectives of the Erasmus+ focused on creating coherent European communities, enhancing youth influence and capability of active participation in democratic societies; improving skills and competencies and promote active citizenship of youth; promoting non-formal education methods and innovative learning methods; fostering intercultural cooperation.
