Objectives

The project “From Adventure to Engagement" was a continuation of the mission of City Bound Europe Network that aims to bring young people closer to young people and give empower them as citizens thanks to outdoor activities and adventure In 2020 and 2021 we organised a set of 5 international youth exchanges that took place in Germany, Czech Republic, Greece and Spain. City Bound is an unique experience that allows teenagers to step out of their comfort zones, meet with their peers from other countries and build their points of views on the European issues based on real life experience rather then opinions heard in the media. The project is a most direct way to implement the general aims of the City Bound Europe Network and aims of this project are corresponding with the Network aims: - To build confidence in the idea of “United Europe” among young people and help them to understand the concept of Europe based on tolerance, inclusion and understanding and preventing radicalization of young people, by creating an opportunity for building opinions based on personal experience and face to face contact. - To provide a space for personal growth of young people from all over Europe and support them in the transition from childhood to adulthood by developing their social and civic competences and preparing them to live in intercultural society. - To rise creativity of participants and support them to discover their full potential by providing innovative non-formal education opportunities especially focused on adventure-based learning methodology. Additionally, as the situation of young people drastically changed in the last two years due to COVID pandemic the project was pushed into a new aim: to help young people to reintegrate with their peers after the lock down and re-learn how to leave in the group as well as assuring health and mental wellbeing of young people. In order to reach this aims our Network every year organizes several activities for youngsters in member countries all over the Europe. During these seven-days-long City Bound Youth Exchanges young people in age 13-17 work together, using non-formal education in order to experience what does united Europe really mean.
