Objectives

Social exclusion is one of the most vital and relevant issues we face nowadays all over the world. Unfortunately, discriminated number of children and youngsters in many countries who face obstacles due to their disadvantages is raising. In order to defend social inclusion in effective way and encourage disadvantaged young people to be more involved in social interactions we need to find proper tools to implement and succeed. As mostly the youth from disadvantaged background are lacking motivation in their initiatives and interactions to find a key to their individual approach, youth workers really need to have innovative and attractive methods as bridges between the society and youth to open them up and to fully encourage use of their potential in overcoming ongoing challenges. From this perspective social exclusion of disadvantaged youth is the crucial issue that youth work should address to, where the youth workers play the important role here. Proposed TC will mainly focus on self-development and self-realization of youth workers own potential and hidden unique talents. It has 2 main directions - to empower youth workers/leaders to work on their self-development, self-awareness and self-assessment and to develop youth work competencies for better social inclusion of their target groups in youth work. It is aimed to equip participants with effective tools that can be used to eliminate social exclusion issues both on international level and on their daily activities with local youth. Despite the fact that the method is very useful and practical, unfortunately, performative arts methods are not widespread a lot and are far from being in the standard toolbox of youth workers. This field is quite underdeveloped but innovative, thus youth workers would highly benefit from the training. Taking into account the above mentioned context, the specific objectives of the proposed TC are: - To equip youth workers and leaders from E+ Program and Eastern Partner countries with the competences to use performative arts methods in their work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds; - To raise participants awareness about social inclusion issues among disadvantaged youth - To stimulate the participants to feel and reflect about the power of non-formal education (NFE) by experimenting different kinds of non-formal artistic and theatrical methods. - To develop a network between participants for following projects to elaborate further the topics of social inclusion and to include more participants in the society transformation processes.
