Objectives

The goals are diverse. On the one hand the participants should be able to look beyond the horizon and to make new, perhaps uncomfortable experiences and in retrospect to go out strengthened from this project. On the other hand through the project they should be encouraged to drop their glasses, their old ideas, and to change them into new glasses with a lot of new perspectives and new positions. With this change of perspective it is possible to reflect the own beliefs and to increase diversity and inclusion. The project will focus the topic Diversity. With the aid of non formal education the project will do anti-racism work. Most of the participants are affected by racism, thats why it is necessary to create rooms, in which it is possible to empower the youngsters. Additionally problem solving strategies will be prepared to increase a more tolerant and solidary togetherness. International Youth Exchange has also the power to raise awareness for other cultures and affects not only the youngsters but also the local communities and the society itself. The youngsters from Greece and Germany made some vulnerable experiences, therefore it is one of the main topics of this Youth Exchange to achieve a better self-esteem. A couple of the participants in Greece quit school and for the german youngsters school failure is a big topic aswell, so this project has to enable learning by non formal education, to empower the participants and to show them that they are also an important part to create a better society. If they change something in their local community, they often change something in a global aspect, too. Another topic is to create space, where the youngsters can connect and at best to plan another common activities for the future. They have to learn to get out of their comfort zone, so they learn that for success it is necessary to act proactively in dynamic group processes.
