Building on a long-standing tradition of professional exchange and dialogue between youth work With the project, we wanted to build on this tradition and integrate it with the previously participating and new partner organizations in order to react to the increasing demand and the new challenges in open and mobile youth work/youth social work across borders, to influence them jointly and to use the professional exchange to gain new impulses for our respective fields of work. The aim was to identify the causes, handling, and effects of radicalization tendencies (native and immigrant/refugee) young people, and to reach a common understanding across borders about the attitude that professionals must take in order to counter and avoid such radical tendencies. The quality of youth work in the participating countries and thus on a European level will be improved by the exchange among youth work professionals. Indirectly and in the long term, young people can also benefit from the international training of professionals. Especially the field of work of open youth work was assessed in this respect in theory and practice. One goal was also to familiarize each other with methods and strategies or to learn new ones that intend to convey basic common values of our society. In this way, the professionals can promote the involvement of young people in the system of representative democracy and enable them to learn and live participation. With the improvement of the level of knowledge and the improvement of the own professional competences, a cross-border basis for the open youth work is created and from this, action strategies and further options for the practical work with young people are developed. The participants were able to draw concrete benefits for their professional activities from the joint workshops, the professional inputs, as well as the lectures. Central topics were: - Developing a common attitude that professionals can use to help young people who exhibit radical who show radical tendencies or who are developing in this direction. - Learning methods that focus on communicating common social values and norms with the aim of counteracting radicalization tendencies and avoiding them in the long term. - The exchange of experiences enabled the inclusion of different perspectives and problems. perspectives and problems. There will be room for exchange about current developments, challenges and examples of good practice. New project ideas can be developed and joint possibilities for action and design expanded. - By involving young people, a very important point was included, namely the views and opinions of young people, which must be perceived first and foremost. The training for professionals pursued an unusual training approach, involving young people in the dialogue, so that discussions could take place at eye level between clients and professionals.
