Objectives

In our project "Responsibility for me, you and Europe" we would like to bring together young people from Germany and Spain to actively discover different ways of assuming responsibility in the European Union. As cultural diversity in Europe is very high, we want to motivate young people to engage with their own traditions and values and to compare them with traditions and values from countries or cultures. The purpose of this comparison is to understand how important it is to take responsibility to various extents, to preserve old traditions and customs, to stand up for environmental protection and to make a social contribution in society. Young people with different social backgrounds will work together in this intercultural team on this important topic. We will use various discussion panels and interviews to try to shed light on the perspectives of minorities in Europe and try to take responsibility for diversity-oriented co-existence. Through the intercultural exchange, language barriers and prejudices are to be reduced and the awareness of active EU citizenship in a diverse society will be strengthened. The project results are published via screens and reports, which are creatively designed by the young people. The young people have the opportunity to actively and independently contribute in the project during a video shoot and will be able to improve their media literacy skills. Even before the presential meeting, the young people will prepare for the meeting via social media and plan it together. The digital dissemination of the participants' experiences and insights will attract more young people in the EU. By networking partner organizations with other educational institutions, other youth work actors will be able to benefit from this project, and the international orientation of the organizations will be strengthened. The participants will live in host families so that they can get to know the living environment and everyday life of their exchange partners better and create long-term friendships and international networks. By participating in this project, young people have the opportunity to strengthen their personal and social skills, such as sense of responsibility, interculturality and teamwork, which will enhance their future educational and career opportunities on the European labor market.
