The “Life in plastic in NOT fantastic” is a Youth Exchange project which will gather, for seven days, 42 young people passionate with an eco-friendly way of living in the island of Salamina to discuss the consequences of the extensive use of plastic in our everyday lives. The aim of the project is to raise awareness on the topic of the project and spread the message of a more sustainable way of living. The Youth Exchange comprises of workshops and discussions on the topic, inputs by experts and personal testimonials. Indoor and outdoor activities will take place and tools and methods of the non-formal learning will be the basis for the implementation of all project activities. The creation of the e-booklet with the comics and the social media campaign aims at reaching diverse target groups within and above their countries of origin and challenge them on a plastic-free life. The project seeks to promote the active and creative participation of young people in raising awareness campaigns while it will enhance the awareness about policies applied at national and European level. The interaction of young people from different backgrounds will enhance the multicultural approach of the project. Imagination, creativity, critical thinking, tolerance, inclusion and active citizenship are some of the skills and attitudes that the participants will enhance through their engagement to this project.
