Objectives

Greece does not provide a class of sexual education at school. The role of information is acquired by NGO, friends who ¨know” and the internet. This reality brings 150.000 abortions yearly, a substantial rise in sexually transmitted diseases and a rise in domestic abuse in Greece, especially in the most vulnerable group of 15-24 years old. In 2019, there is no structured and open information available, by the time the person is able to visit them, it is either too late or too old. It is proven that when sexual education is efficient: -STD percentages fall -Teen pregnancy drops -Gender equality is prevalent "Sexual Education for Youth" is a youth exchange that comes from the cooperation of the young people of 6 European partners, informal youth groups and local stakeholders(municipalities, organizations and the media) in Drama aiming at raising awareness on the need of reliable and taboo-free information about sexual health and healthy relationships in youth. The project also aims to encourage young people to take action in their local community. The preparatory meeting will take place in the city of Drama 18-19/10/2019 and the youth exchange will take place in the city of Drama from 24/11/2019- 1/12/2019. Participating countries will be 6: Greece,Spain, Montenegro, Serbia, Estonia and Latvia.
