Objectives

"Eo,Eo Association" has implemented a training course called "Cry of Hope" which was aiming to train youth organisation on understanding the hate speech, combating hate speech online and designing educational activities for young people to prevent it. During the training course we had a partner from Turkey called Youth Work Association which was expert on the topic of Human Rights Education(HRE) and Hate Speech(HS). They are working with Council of Europe directly and running the campaign No Hate Speech Movement (NHSM) by Council of Europe in Turkey. After we had a week together in our project "Cry of Hope" we have discussed a lot on the topic and designed this project together. The NHSM campaign came to an end after 6 years of intensive action: present in 45 countries, involving more than 70 European partner organisations and thousands of activists online and offline. The Evaluation Conference brought together some 160 participants in Council of Europe; in Strasbourg, France on 10-12 April 2018 to review the achievements, the challenges and to develop guidelines for future action against hate speech and for human rights for the Council of Europe and its partners. According to the guidelines of the campaign, they published an online open call to the organisations on how the issue. There are already existing publications also can be found online. One of the most important publications we have used as a source to design this training course are; "Compass the manual on human rights education with young people!", "Bookmarks, a manual for combating hate speech through human rights education" and the "We CAN! Taking action against hate speech through counter and alternative narratives". Our aim is to train youth workers on human rights education in order to reduce human rights violation and acceptance of hate speech and discrimination. In the Cry of Hope training course; we have agreed with our partners and friends on below issues solutions which are also objectives of our course; • Improve Human Rights knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to contribute to the profession of youth work • Provide youth leaders and trainers from across Europe with the skills, knowledge and information relevant to being trainer in an all-inclusive youth work practice • Enable participants to provide training to other youth leaders and youth workers in their own communities and organisations • Discuss differences and similarities in youth work practices throughout Europe • Develop and explore training tools and practices from different areas. • Create a space to share best practices and develop co-operation among participants from NHSM member organisations
